Star Wars Fans are Going Crazy Over New Grogu Poster
Mandalorian Fans have experienced some crazy twists and turns in the seasons so far. With Grogu (Baby Yoda) grabbing many peoples hearts its no surprise the show has kept him in the spotlight. With the ending of the last season bringing such a surprise, no one knows what to expect now. Would we see Grogu go on to become a Jedi like many before him? Or would this be his departure from the storyline so we can get back to the dirty life of bounty hunting?
A licensed Star Wars poster that was just released has brought up a lot more questions now. Fans have been taking to social media to discuss what this could mean and what direction Star Wars may take this new story in. The poster in question is the one below, it shows Luke Skywalker holding a yellow Kyber Crystal while Grogu holds the remaining parts needed for a lightsaber in the air with the force.
Most fans expected Grogu to go into some type of Jedi Training after Luke took him. A child with force sensitive abilities is not going to waste away, so this was no surprise. What people are questioning is the yellow crystal. We’ve seen yellow come up a few times in the galaxy. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic often portrayed Sentinels, a special kind of Jedi, with yellow lightsabers. We’ve also seen it in more recent games like Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, which allowed players to choose more unique colors like yellow. A more recent connection to yellow lightsabers was Rey in the latest series of Star Wars movies.
Unfortunately, I doubt we will see much history of the Old Republic days, but it’s still something to think about. You never know where Star Wars could take this story. But the fact that they choose a specific and more rare color in the cannon makes me think they are up to something. Hopefully we will see a tie of some sort to another character or group.
It is important to note that while this is licensed by Lucasfilm, it has come from an artist that they work with and not a specific art department of the studio, and could potentially have nothing to do with The Mandalorian.
Either way, it looks like Grogu will begin training very soon. It will be interesting to see how they develop that story. Will Grogu meet Kylo Ren in Luke’s training program? Could we possibly see Grogu wield this lightsaber in the next season? There is a lot to consider and I think this poster has sparked a lot of curiosity and excitement for what will come next.
