Pokémon’s 23rd Movie is Coming to Netflix (and Definitely Gives Jungle Book Vibes)
The Pokemon company announced that its 23rd movie is coming to Netflix on October 8, 2021.
The movie is called Secrets of the Jungle and really gives off some Jungle Book or Tarzan vibes. With these similarities it may feel like a story we already know and love but in the Pokémon universe. Pokemon.com does a good job of summing up what the plot point will be and it definitely fits the vibe.
A troop of the Mythical Pokémon Zarude live deep within the Forest of Okoya where they maintain a strict rule that forbids outsiders from entering their territory. Elsewhere in the jungle lives Koko, a human boy raised by a lone Zarude who left the troop. Koko has grown up never doubting that he is a Zarude, but one day, a chance meeting with Ash and Pikachu leaves Koko with his first human friend. Is Koko truly a Pokémon? Or is he, in fact, a human? When danger threatens the jungle, the bonds between Pokémon and humans—and the love between parent and child—will be put to the test.

With that said we can expect to see some characters we already know coming into the scene. As danger comes closer to the jungle we will get to see some conflict from characters we know to well.
We are glad to see Netflix hosting this movie. With Pokémon continuing to grow over the years it’s exciting seeing the big companies getting more involved. Netflix hosting this will mean that many more viewers will have the chance to watch it from around the world, uniting the Pokémon community even more. Stay tuned for the movie to be released in just a few days!
